My name is Jamie Lea Braithwaite {{jamieBEE}}. I was born & raised in Las Vegas, Nevada.  I now serve as the Manager of the Adobe Las Vegas Photoshop (& Print) User Group {{VegasPUG.org}}. All my hopes and dreams are to share techno-geek skills with the world!

Jamie Lea BraithwaiteI started my graphic design career at the age of 7 making birthday cards, posters, and flyers on our Apple IIe and dot-matrix printer. I have always been “that girl” that can help get something done on the computer.

My personal and professional portfolio have seen many upgrades since those early days. As a graduate from Brigham Young University’s Technology Education program, I was able to embrace my dream of becoming a true über nerd. I taught Flash Development at BYU in the Technology Teacher Education Department; Computer Foundation Courses, Microsoft Office Applications, Graphic Design, and Web Development in the BYU Office of IT Training; and today I teach local seminars on Technology.

My love for technology does not end at my professional life. I have added a few updates to my personal software. Garth Braithwaite, My Renaissance Man {{GarthDB}}, is a perfect partner in techno-crime and together we understand the art and science of the technology world. jamiebee famSince our union in 2003 (famBEE in beta), we’ve downloaded two adorable upgrades, Gracie (v1.0) and Ainlsley (v2.0). Our kids have no chance of life unconnected from a keypad and harddrive. Their entire lives are documented for future generations.

Garth and I run our own Graphic Design & Web Development businesses: G & J Design, LLC and MediaBlacksmith, LLC. For an entertaining, up-to-date, (almost live action) look at real life in the famBEE Renaissance Home, visit our family blog at www.fambee.org

Today I had a conversation like this:
She asked “I need advice from a young graphic designer to an old graphic designer.”
I replied “am I the young one or the old one? hehehe :)”
She laughed and said “I graduated from college in Graphic Design when you were in diapers. It has been a REALLY long time and am really interested to get started again. Where do I start? What programs do I use? etc. etc. etc…..
I replied with this:My Fav 5:

    • I use this program for practically everything like to edit my photographs, create wedding invitations, wedding album layouts, digital scrapbooking, or anything RASTOR

If you are getting ready to start doing your own Graphic DESIGNING there are six different CS3 software collections find out more at Adobe.com/creativelicense/. Depending on your expertise you will choose a different suite. We have the whole ka-bootle with the CS3 Master Collection but you may want to choose the Design or the Web Premium depending on what you will be doing or what you are more interested in learning.
